South Pars Gas Field Development (Phases 9&10)
- The South Pars Gas Field Phases 9 and 10 Project was among the first projects to be designed and constructed with minimal foreign participation. Encompassing offshore production platforms, subsea transfer pipelines, and an onshore gas treatment refinery, the project was developed to yield a daily capacity of 50 million standard cubic meters (MMSCMD) of natural gas, 80,000 barrels of gas condensate, along with ethane, liquefied petroleum gas (propane and butane / LPG), and sulfur.
- As a member of the consortium, Oil Industries’ Engineering and Construction (OIEC) contributed to the execution of the onshore facilities, which came on stream in 2007 (1386). Notably, OIEC made history as the first Iranian enterprise entrusted with the full delivery of an EPC contract within the South Pars gas field.
- Executed under the client Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), the project consortium also comprised GS Engineering & Construction from South Korea and Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC).
- The defined scope of work covered FEED design and detailed engineering, procurement of main and bulk equipment alongside commercial services, construction and installation across site preparation and refinery process facilities, full commissioning (pre-commissioning, start-up, and initial operation), and the construction and installation of the Tail Gas Treating Unit (TGTU).
- The plant’s overall production capacity includes 50 million standard cubic meters per day (MMSCMD) of treated natural gas, 80,000 barrels per day (BPD) of gas condensate, 2,900 metric tons per day (MTPD) of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), 2,750 MTPD of ethane, and 400 MTPD of sulfur.
