South Pars Gas Field Development (Phases 20&21)
- The development project for Phases 20 and 21 of the South Pars Gas Field was awarded by the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) under an EPCM/EPC contract.
- The offshore portion of the project is located in the Persian Gulf, approximately 100 km from the southern coast of Iran.
- The key project scope and objectives include construction of the onshore processing refinery for Phases 20 and 21; drilling 22 gas wells on the seabed, comprising two appraisal wells and 20 development wells; construction of wellhead and accommodation/support platforms; installation of 32-inch subsea pipelines for transporting produced fluids from offshore to onshore; and commissioning and performance testing of the refinery.
- The project feed consists of 56 million standard cubic meters per day of sour gas, equivalent to 2 billion standard cubic feet per day, extracted from the shared reservoir and transferred to the onshore refinery facilities. The main objective is to fully process this feed stream and achieve the following final product slate:
Â
50 million standard cubic meters per day of sweet gas for injection into the national gas grid; 1 million tonnes per year of ethane as feedstock for petrochemical complexes; 1 million tonnes of propane and butane (LPG); 28 million barrels of stabilized gas condensate; and 140,000 tonnes of sulfur for export and domestic industrial use.
